Now, let’s dive in today’s subject: Muharram. Bringing vibrant fervor to the Indian Muslim community, its most important festivals mark the start of the Islamic New Year. This special time falls in the first month of the Islamic calendar and is the second holiest out of the four sacred months in Islam throughout the year, with the first one being Ramadan. Today’s photographer, Anik Saha, has done a brilliant job capturing the essence of this commemoration through a poignant photo series.
