โฑ๏ธย Reading time: 4 min
Itโs Christmas time! Itโs a magical time to make the impossible possible, to walk in the city and find yourself among polar bears. Itโs time to have other eyes and become children again.
Written and shot by Laura Pierangeli.
Whoโs behind the lens?
Describe yourself as a photographer and where you are based
I was born in Rome and I started playing with a camera when I was 8 years old, communicating through images is part of me, my way of being and feeling about life, I don't do it for any other reason than to express myself.
I trained in reportage photography by attending the courses of the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome (RUFA) and, from 2007 to 2014 with the photographic group "Benaco 12", I took part in various group exhibitions collaborating on various photographic projects.
Since 2016, thanks to the participation in photographic workshops with both Italian and international photographers, I have become passionate about "street photography". Having the possibility of revealing an emotion, a story, an entire world in a single image is, I think, a priceless creative experience.
I participated in several Italian and international projects (Arcipelago 19, 24hourproject, Travel tales) I exhibited my personal exhibition in Rome in February 2020 "How did we get to this" at Otto Rooms & Photogallery, and I took part in various exhibitions set up as a result of both national and international street photography festivals (Siena awards, Paris street photo awards, Head on photo festival in Sidney, Kuala Lumpur Photofestival). I have published in several street photography magazines such as "New Journalist magazine" and "Street photography artist magazine". I have been a founding member since 2021 of the Italian street photography collective Collettivopunto21.
